In Baku on Nov. 15, Serbian Mining and Energy Minister Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the relevant ministries of Serbia and Azerbaijan, which deepens relations in the field of energy, and a commercial contract between the gas companies Sokar and Srbijagas, enabling deliveries of up to 400 million cubic meters of gas from that country until the end of next year.
She said the two countries’ cooperation was strategic in character, thanks to the friendly relations and mutual respect of the two presidents, Aleksandar Vucic and Ilham Aliyev, stated the Serbian Mining and Energy Ministry.
“By signing the memorandum, we have deepened Serbia and Azerbaijan’s bilateral cooperation in energy and secured gas supplies from this country in the quantity of up to 400 million cubic meters of gas per year until 2025, after which we will be able to purchase up to a billion cubic meters,” Djedovic Handanovic stated after the signing of the Memorandum and commercial contract at the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan.
