Serbia’s new Minister of Energy Zorana Mihajlovic a few days ago threw out the director of the Srbijagas gas utility from a meeting to which she had called all public enterprise CEOs. Srbijagas is a Serbian-Russian joint enterprise playing the key role in national gas supply. Ordering the Socialist Party of Serbia official out was the last in a series of moves by the authorities in Serbia to demonstrate a readiness to modify its course toward the country’s energy sector, diminishing the Socialists’ role in it.
