Disquietude in the Ruling Coalition

The authorities in Belgrade are trying to be all calm and composed about Joseph Biden’s victory in the U.S. presidential election, but a degree of anxiety does get across. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic congratulated Biden, wishing him “wisdom and determination” to face “the existing challenges for the benefit of America and the world.” In the same tweet he expressed the hope that cooperation with the new U.S. president would be as good as it was “with Donald Trump, for which Serbia is grateful to him.” The message reveals that Vucic doesn’t seem to be very happy about the change at the White House.
