Clear Messages Delivered Diplomatically

The European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas delivered clear and unambiguous messages to the citizens of Serbia and to Aleksandar Vucic’s regime last week. Despite maintaining a moderate, diplomatic tone, in an address to the Serbian public Kallas was clear about what was expected from Serbia and what was acceptable to Brussels and what was not. Kallas’ visit to Serbia was different from earlier visits by EU top officials both in terms of content and form, which in the diplomatic world can often mean a new stance toward a country.
