For days, the Aleksandar Vucic regime has been waging a campaign against the top man at the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime Mladen Nenadic. The Office, which is the key prosecutor’s office in the country, is leading two politically very sensitive investigations – it is looking into the money channels connected to the reconstruction of the Novi Sad railway station and the illegal cancelation of the former army headquarters complex in downtown Belgrade’s status as a cultural good. Part of the public has been speculating that these proceedings, which the authorities undoubtedly oppose, are not the only motive for the rising number of attacks on Nenadic.
