It’s Not Over Yet

A binding ruling sentencing him to one year in prison and banning him from performing office for the next six years is undoubtedly the biggest blow that Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik has received in his political career. Although some feel that the verdict marks the political end of Dodik, it is still too early to conclude this, as he will be able to remain the president of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats, the ruling and most power party in RS. Also Dodik’s reaction and that of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic show that the verdict is unlikely to destabilize Bosnia and Herzegovina.
