More Than a Protest

A series of violent incidents directed against Turkish immigrants in Montenegro has revealed a high degree of Islamophobia and xenophobia and brought Milojko Spajic’s government into an unpleasant position. Despite the incidents being preceded by a campaign of sorts against Turks, which was led by pro-Serbian rightist websites and politicians, the claims that Aleksandar Vucic’s government is behind the anti-Turkish protests are unrealistic, nor is there any proof that this is the case.
