Vucic Starts Campaign to Prolong Reign

On March 7 Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic unveiled a national strategy called Serbia 2030-2035, an extremely ambitious and the most voluminous development program in Serbia yet, which envisages EUR48 billion in capital investments by 2035. The essence of his presentation of the strategy, however, is not economic, but political – Vucic is implicitly telling his voters that the realization of these ambitious plans necessitates that he stays in power in the coming years.
