The gap between the two sides of Serbian society grew deeper last week due to the Aleksandar Vucic administration’s reaction to the death of Belgrade School of Philosophy student Milica Zivkovic. The authorities used her death under uncertain circumstances to brutally attack the student movement ahead of key local elections, but also to strike at the “disobedient” managements of the Belgrade University and School of Philosophy, and collect information on the student movement over the past year and a half.
