A decision by the Government of Serbia to send to Parliament two draft laws extending the repayment deadlines for loans taken from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has left the public suspecting that the state treasury is either in bad condition, or that the authorities want to make all possible financial resources available for populist measures to be employed ahead of the run-up to the forthcoming parliamentary elections.
