The ruling majority in the Serbian parliament last week adopted amendments to five judicial laws, after months of pressure from the European Union (EU) which followed after the acts – through the amendments adopted in January – became incompatible with the EU standards. The regime led by Aleksandar Vucic, which wants to stay on the European path but by the look of things does not also want Serbia to join the EU, has achieved its goal – it has spent six months just to restore the laws back to their previous versions and has even received praised for that from Brussels.
