Serbian Political Scene and the Election Boycott

Oposition parties (BETA/Milos Miskov)

Serbia’s leading opposition parties, with the exception of the Movement of Free Citizens, have formally decided to boycott the regular general election due to be held in the spring of 2020. The Movement of Free Citizens has made it clear that it thinks there is still room for fighting for fair election conditions, that a definitive decision on a boycott is redundant and that the struggle against the ruling bloc should simply continue, while it will make a formal decision on the boycott by the end of this week. World power centers (primarily Brussels and Washington) are also opposed to the idea of an election boycott, which was once again reiterated to the opposition parties just before their decision on said boycott.
