Only Progressives and Socialists Sure to Cross Election Threshold

The Serbian Electoral Commission has accepted 21 tickets in total for the June 21 general election. Only two tickets can definitely count on crossing the three percent election threshold, according to the opinion polls conducted so far. They are the ticket of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party, called Aleksandar Vucic – For Our Children, and the ticket of the Socialist Party of Serbia and United Serbia, running under the title Ivica Dacic – Socialist Party of Serbia – United Serbia – Dragan Markovic Palma. The first name on the Progressive party ticket is incumbent Minister of Agriculture Branislav Nedimovic, while the Socialists’ ticket is spearheaded by Dacic. The leading parties representing national minorities will also certainly enter parliament, as different rules and a lower threshold apply to them.
