Kosovo Gets New Government Spearheaded by Kurti

On Feb. 3, the Kosovo Assembly elected a new cabinet headed by the leader of the Self-Determination Movement, Albin Kurti. The election was held late last year, while the formation of the government occurred after negotiations that took more than two months. Before the election of the government, representatives of the two parties, Self-Determination and the Democratic League of Kosovo, in their own words, very quickly managed to harmonize the new government’s program. The harmonization process went smoothly despite the fact that Self-Determination is seen as a center-left party, while the Democratic League of Kosovo is a center-right party. Problems had appeared when Kurti and Mustafa launched talks on staff choices.
