Albin Kurti, who just resigned as Kosovo's premier, has said in his first public reaction to the dismissal of his cabinet by the Kosovo Assembly that the fall of his cabinet is necessary for rising up because it would win after that.

Kurti said that it would be good to remember the March 25 Kosovo Assembly session and that his Self-Determination Movement would ultimately prevail.

"The purpose of the no-confidence in government vote was not to overthrow the government but weaken it. This was encouraged by (U.S. envoy Richard) Grenell who said in his message that over 80 MPs were willling to risk the lives of their citizens only for a presidential exchange [of territories].

Late on March 25 the Kosovo Assembly voted with 82 votes for and 32 against while one delegate abstained from voting no-confidence in government. The vote was motioned for by the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo which was a coalition partner in the cabinet.
