Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated on April 23 that he was certain the same curfew as before would be in effect during this weekend – from Friday (April 24) afternoon, to Monday (April 27) morning because, despite the epidemiological situation having improved somewhat, there must be no relaxation.

"This weekend, it will last from Friday at 6:00 p.m. to Monday at 5:00 a.m., I presume. And we shall see for later, depending on the epidemiological situation and advice of medical professionals," Vucic said after an inspection of the new hospital facility in Karaburma.

He said that there must be no relaxation. "A lot of people will get upset. But

and they are in favor of extending the curfew by at least two weeks, especially on weekends, which tend to be the busiest," Vucic stated, adding that, when the current measures are lifted, everybody will say that it could have been done differently, but that he was happy that the state had managed to save people's lives by implementing these measures.

Vucic stated that, if trends regarding the pandemic remain positive, air traffic will start to partially reopen after May 1, as will traffic between cities.
