Serbian Movement Dveri leader Bosko Obradovic on June 2 once again said that his movement would boycott the upcoming elections at all levels, scheduled for June 21, as, according him, they would be undemocratic, against the Constitution and risky to citizens’ health.

“Dveri will not run in the upcoming bogus vote in any way as we believe that a boycott is the right way toward ensuring true, fair and free elections,” Obradovic told a news conference in Cacak.

He further said that running in the elections would be “an artificial respirator for an undemocratic regime,” and give legitimacy to the thesis that “everything is normal” in Serbia and that democratic institutions existed.

“The truth, however, is that Serbia is an undemocratic country and that exactly 30 years since multi-party system was restored, we are again going back to a one-party system and there are no conditions for any democratic procedure,”  Obradovic specified, giving the example of media blackout and media censorship against all who think differently from the incumbent authorities.
