EU Delegation to Serbia Head Sem Fabrizi in Belgrade on Oct. 13 opened conference titled “Cooperation between Serbia and the EU – Creating possibilities for improving education through Erasmus+ Program,” underlining the two-decade EU-Serbia partnership in the field of education.

Belgrade University Rector Ivanka Popovic said that Erasmus+ Program had brought many benefits to the Belgrade University. Speaking to reporters before the conference, Popovic said that the program had provided structural assistance and capacity building.

Fabrizi joined the introductory section via Zoom platform as part of Covid-19 safety measures. He said that education “is an outstanding success story” of two-decade long partnership between the EU and Serbia.

He encouraged Serbia to continue participating in the program for the period 2021-2027. Serbia became Erasmus + Program Country in 2019.
