Milos Jovanovic: An Educated Conservative Nationalist

Democratic Party of Serbia president Milos Jovanovic has said that it is necessary to go back to a sober approach in  the opposition's struggle against the government and called on all actors to stop obsessing about Aleksandar Vucic and the Serbian Progressive Party.

In an article for the Nov. 5 edition of the NIN weekly, Jovanovic stressed that the most important things were "to return politics to politics," rationality and debates backed by fact, without obsessing about Vucic and the Serbian Progressive Party.

"For starters it is incredibly important to organize efficient checks of the electoral process. At this time, this can be achieved through an agreement by the entire opposition.  Of course, the struggle for better and more media coverage with an emphasis on the public broadcasting service needs to be led constantly," the party's president wrote.

According to him, the opposition needs to put various vanities aside and power struggles inside the opposition, adding that the opposition itself had created a performance for the public and worked on its own delegitmisation.
