Serbian Parliament Speaker Ivica Dacic and U.S. Ambassador Anthony Godfrey concurred on Nov. 5 that the outcome of the U.S. presidential election would not affect the good relations between the two countries, it was stated by the Parliament.

"The collocutors have also exchanged opinions about the U.S. election process that is in the final phase and concurred that, regardless who wins the election, the outcome would not change the good bilateral relations, which showed a powerful positive trend in the previous period," the statement reads.

Ambassador Godfrey congratulated Dacic on the assuming of the new duty, saying that he was convinced Dacic would contribute to the raising of the level and professional conduct of the assembly.

Dacic stated that he was ready to continue his engagement, in the new capacity, towards the further strengthening of relations between the U.S. and Serbia, which were significantly improved in the recent years, to which Ambassador Godfrey and the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade have greatly contributed, the statement reads.
