Older and poor people with lower and medium levels of education account for the largest portion of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party voters, shows a poll conducted by the Bureau for Social Research (BIRODI). According to the survey carried out in April and after holidays observed in May, the same people also constitute “the most regular and loyal viewers” of pro-government TV channels Pink and Happy.

The Progressives are backed by 35.4 percent of the surveyed, 19.2 percent will abstain from voting, while the opposition party Alliance for Serbia is on 10.6 percent.

Of those supporting the Progressives and their leader and Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic, 58.7 percent are people aged 65 and above and 32.6 percent are aged between 18 and 29. The largest number of the ruling party voters is in eastern and southern Serbia and the least in Belgrade, according to the survey carried out by BIRODI.
