Attack on Cafe Guests in Croatia Who Watched Football Match of Red Star Belgrade

A group of 15 masked persons attacked the guests of a cafe in Uzdolje, near Knin, Croatia, who were watching the TV broadcast of the Aug. 21 football match of Red Star from Belgrade.

According to reports in Croatian media, five of the injured were taken to hospital. There were also women and children in the group that was attacked.

The perpetrators hit the owner of the cafe on the head with a bottle, and also attacked his wife and one nine-year-old child.

The portal Feral News (feral.news) from Knin reported that a similar incident occurred in the village of Djevrske, with provocations on ethnic grounds during the broadcast of the match, which was Red Star's qualifier for the Champion's League versus Young Boys.

The police confirmed that the two incidents took place on Aug. 22. They brought in several persons for questioning within the investigation of the incident in Uzdolje.
