The management of Pirot-based Tigar Tyres has decided to prepare for a return to full production capacity as of May 4, in line with recommendations from state and local officials.

The company's communication service has said that representatives of the management met with representatives of the Pirot District, City of Pirot, Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Pirot Chamber of Commerce, Institute of Public Health, unions and the police on April 22.

"The objective of the meeting was to exchange information and good practices for the purpose of safely launching production in existing conditions.

Tigar Tyres has presented the Michelin Group's Protocol on Preventive Hygienic Measures regarding the coronavirus pandemic, which also contains all the preventive measures prescribed by the Government of Serbia in the newly created situation," adds the press release.

The company has recalled that production in the Pirot and Babusnica facilities stopped at 2 p.m. on March 23, "with the minimum of required activities organized in safe conditions." Michelin-owned Tigar Tyres has 3,600 workers in Pirot and Babusnica.
