Monthly Inflation in July 2%

In Serbia this past July the prices of goods and services for personal consumption, used to measure inflation, went up 2% on average relative to the previous month, the Serbian Statistical Office stated on Aug. 12. 

Year-over-year, the July inflation was 2%, whereas compared to December 2019 it was 1.7%. Relative to June, price hikes in July were registered in the categories of recreation and culture (3.5%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (2.4%), transportation (2.2%), communications (0.4%), health care (0.2%), as well as in the categories rent, water, electricity, natural gas and other fuels, and education (0.1% each). 

A price decrease was seen in food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.4%), clothing and footwear (0.4%) and furniture, household items and current home maintenance (0.1%).
