Marko Parezanovic (BetaPhoto/The Ministry of Defence of Republic of Serbia)
Marko Parezanovic, who has for years been known as the number one man of the Security and Information Agency (BIA), was dismissed recently as head of the Agency’s operative unit. Known as one of Aleksandar Vucic’s most loyal associates, he has been appointed aide to the director of the BIA, a position with vastly less powers and a weaker influence over the Agency’s work than his previous position afforded him. The news of Parezanovic’s dismissal came as a surprise to many and the reasons remain the subject of speculation for now.
