Bishop Maksim, A Rebel in the Church

The Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church has decided that the Bishop of Western America Maksim (Vasiljevic) be removed from the position of professor at the Orthodox Seminary.

This makes Bishop Maksim part of a group of several other church officials who have been seriously criticized for their work and public activities by the Church’s leadership, i.e. the Synod (a form of Serbian Orthodox Church government), all of which is tightly connected to the relationship between the Church and Serbian authorities.
