According to the World Economic Forum's 2019 Global Competitiveness Report, Serbia has made progress in eight areas of global competitiveness, says an Oct. 9 release.

Serbia was ranked 65th last year, but as the value of the Global Competitiveness Index remained unchanged for this year, it means that other states have made greater progress.

The report includes 141 economies, ranking them based on 103 indicators organized in 12 areas.

Serbia was more successful than before against a wide range of indicators, including institutions, infrastructure, skills, labor market, financial system, market size, business dynamism and innovation capability.

The country's position hasn't changed in terms of macroeconomic stability, but is lagging behind in ICT adoption, health care and product market.
