Representatives of the Aleksandar Vucic - For Our Children coalition gathered around the Serbian Progressive Party were the first to hand in on March 5 the bloc's election ticket to the Republican Electoral Commission and, according to Novi Sad Mayor Milos Vucevic, 72 percent of the ticket consists of new candidates relative to the previous election.
Vucevic, who is a vice-president in the Serbian Progressive Party, told reporters that 45 percent of the ticket were women and that 42 candidates were from the party's Youth Academy.
"Our objective is to gain the support of citizens for continuing our development policy," Vucevic said, adding that that meant that the average salary could rise to EUR900 "so that our children stay here."
Vucevic said that the party's campaign would commence in Vranje on March 14 and that a rally in Belgrade would be held on Apr. 18 while the party planned on holding its final rally in Nis on Apr. 23.
