Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said that as of 10 a.m. on March 18, persons over the age of 65 living in urban areas are absolutely banned from going outside, while in rural and areas with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants the ban applies to those over the age of 70.

"Because urban areas are infection clusters," Vucic said after a government session he took part in, listing the cities of Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kikinda and Nis.

He said that as of March 18 everyone was banned from going outside between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., except those who are on duty and those working the third shift.

Vucic also said that the date of the elections would be set once the coronavirus problem was solved. "Elections do not exist now," he said.
