Mojsilovic New Chief of Staff After Dikovic Retires

Serbian Army Chief of Staff Gen. Milan Mojsilovic on March 31 said that coronavirus spread posed a major threat that could jeopardize the security of the nation and the state, but stressed that the army, regardless of the great risk involved, was obliged to respond to the challenge serving as the pillar of the society’s security.

“This is the time when discipline and capability to endure the difficulties are vital in prevailing over this plague. Do not be afraid of losses, there will be losses, but our engagement can ensure they have not gone in vain,” Mojsilovic said in a letter to the army staff.

He stressed that in this situation, great responsibility and obligations rested with the commanding officers, particularly those in charge of basic units.

“The Serbian Army has the strength and capacity, it has the best possible organization, bold and courageous people who have never spared themselves in the name of higher goals. In this context, the army’s psychological resilience to carry out all assignments is crucial. In the times of the biggest crisis, our nation has been seeking anchor in its army. Many eyes will be set on a soldier, and his bearing will infuse the strength into the nation to endure this fight,” Mojsilovic stressed.
