Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on April 6 that Belgrade is determined to help the Serbs living in Kosovo and Metohija in suppressing the COVID-19 epidemic, adding that the authorities are also ready to “fully” cooperate with representatives of the temporary institutions in Pristina when it comes to fighting the virus.
According to the President’s Office, Vucic spoke with UNMIK head Abdul Zahir Tanin over the phone, expressing his concern over the infection spreading in Kosovo.
Vucic and Tanin also talked about the political and security situation in Kosovo in light of the coming U.N. Security Council meeting devoted to the U.N. Secretary-General’s report on UNMIK’s work, which is to be held as a video conference.
Vucic told Tanin that the Security Council sessions on UNMIK are important to Serbia as they keep the Kosovo question relevant, and because they serve to inform about the political and security situation there, which he described as “far from stable.”
