The U.S. ambassador in Belgrade, Anthony Godfrey, stated during a conversation with Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic on April 8 that the U.S. would send 6,000 corona virus test kits to Serbia within the next few days.

During the telephone conversation, Dacic thanked for the announced aid on Serbia's behalf, especially bearing in mind that the U.S. was currently one of the countries that is the worst affected by the corona virus, the Foreign Ministry has stated.

According to the statement, Dacic recollected that the Serbian government sent an Air Serbia plane to the U.S. on April 8, to evacuate Serbian students and pupils from the U.S., and that, on the way there, the plane carried 170 U.S. citizens back to their country.

Godfrey thanked for the assistance in the evacuation of U.S. citizens, recollecting that, on the March 26 humanitarian flight, Serbia already transported 64 U.S. citizens to the U.S., and that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo thanked Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic for that gesture, the statement reads.
