On May 12, the Serbian Cabinet adopted a protocol on Serbian returnees and foreigners entering the country based on the situation and efforts to protect the population from Covid-19.
The protocol states that Serbian citizens may enter Serbia and move around freely if they have a negative PCR test result issued in the past 72 hours. If, however, Serbian citizens returning to the country from abroad do not have proof of being virus-free they will need to spend 14 days self-isolating at home, the government has said in a statement.
Foreign citizens may enter Serbia under two conditions: a negative PCR test in the past 72 hours and with certificates issued by a commission made up of representatives of the ministries of health, construction, traffic and infrastructure and the interior and foreign ministries. This certificate may be obtained from Serbian embassies and consulates in a foreign citizen's country of origin.
The crisis camp for protecting the health of the population from the Covid-19 infectious disease recommended on June 1 that Serbia's borders be reopened for citizens from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Montenegro and North Macedonia, the statement said.
