The number of physicians who have signed the petition "United Against COVID-19," launched by an informal group of 350 doctors, has more than doubled to 770 medics supporting the initiative.

On July 22 the list included 775 doctors rooting for the establishment of a new government team to fight the outbreak of Covid-19.

The signatories explained in an open letter that they wanted a new team to be set up, demanding that allegations of under-reported coronavirus figures be investigated into, and that intimidation and politicization "threatening the dignity of medical professionals" be stopped.

Serbian Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar said on July 22 that the letter signed by the doctors had nothing to do with their profession, and everything to do with politics, arguing that the signatories were "parties' people."
