Kragujevac reports double-digit numbers of new coronavirus cases every day, and the epidemiological situation in the city is still unstable, the Public Health Institute's epidemiologist, Predrag Delic, warned on July 22, explaining that "unstable" meant that it might worsen.

"What might sound optimistic at this point is that the curve of the coronavirus outbreak has flattened, which was the purpose of our struggle - to keep the number of infections at a level that would not pose a threat to the national health-care system," Delic said in an interview published by the Glas Sumadije portal.

Delic added that compared to the previous peak "respiratory symptoms are strongly pronounced" this time. "It is very dangerous that mostly young people have been hospitalized and are using ventilators," he said, specifying that many patients were in the 20-40 age group.
