Fisnik Halimi, a political analyst from Pristina, said on Sept. 3 that during the meeting in Washington, the Serbian and Kosovo delegations will be discussing project and economy funding, as the territory exchange has already been agreed.

“As for the political solution, that story is long done with. We have an agreement on territory exchange and it will be dragged out for a while, but it will happen, because the U.S., Serbia, a part of Albanian politicians and, what matters – Russia – have all agreed to it,” Halimi told the Kosovoonline portal.

He said that the meeting of Kosovo and Serbia’s high officials at the White House is not likely to result in a political solution as it was organized for the purpose of U.S. President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. He added that the agreement on the exchange of territories is certain.

Halimi also said that Trump will use the meeting to promote it as an international success given that Belgrade and Pristina will receive around USD2 billion in direct investments for important infrastructure projects.

The analyst dismissed the possibility of any surprises or a political agreement being reached in Washington.
