Russian President Vladimir Putin and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic had a telephone conversation on Sep. 10, in which they discussed the resolution of the Kosovo question, Kremlin stated in a press release.

“The problem of Kosovo received special attention. Vucic informed [Putin] about the negotiations in Washington and Brussels on September 4 and 7 [respectively]. Putin confirmed Russia’s unchanged stance on the drafting a balanced and comprise solution acceptable to Belgrade, which should be confirmed by the U.N. Security Council,” the release said.

Current topics relating to strategic partnership between Serbia and Russia were also discussed by the two presidents, and the Russian side “highly praised” Vucic’s personal contribution to the strategic partnership, it was added.

“The readiness for a further close collaboration when it comes to bilateral relations, regional and international questions, has been emphasized,” the Kremlin stated, adding that the conversation was initiated by the Serbian side.
