Together for Serbia party leader Nebojsa Zelenovic said on Sept. 17 that the opposition's dialogue with representatives of the authorities in Serbia was possible, but only if it was organized by the EU.

On the subject of conclusions of talks with European Parliament representatives, Zelenovic told the portal Nova (nova.rs) that he advocated such a conversation, but on "clearly defined terms." "I believe that the portion of the opposition Together for Serbia also belongs to can engage in talks with the authorities only if those talks are not a facade. Those talks can be meaningful only if they are organized by the EU. They ought to be negotiations between the regime and its satellites and the true opposition on the other side," said Zelenovic.

He added that he had told the European parliamentarians that for any dialogue to take place, "conditions must be secured for fair reporting of the media, especially of (public service) RTS, a normal electoral process and the exclusion of organized crime from the elections."

MEPs from the ranks of the Socialists and Democrats, and representatives of the Party of Freedom and Justice, Democratic Party and Together for Serbia on Sept. 16 held a meeting at which they concurred that the dialogue between the authorities and the opposition in Serbia needed to resume as soon as possible.
