The executive director of the Center for Free Elections and Democracy (CESID), Bojan Klacar, said on Sept. 20 that he expected a coalition government that would have continuity.

Klacar said in an interview with Prva TV that "it is difficult to find political interests that would justify a concentration government," which one might expect in a serious crisis and that the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic was of not of that magnitude.

"A coalition government and continuity of government are key words. From the standpoint of citizens, it is important that new cabinet members are prepared for compromises. Compromises will be necessary in terms of both major and minor themes, as well as in terms of Serbia's internal affairs," Klacar said, adding that "the reappointment of Ana Brnabic as prime minister was the likeliest option."

"This is not going to be a long-duration government, which is yet another reason to reappoint Ana Brnabic," Klacar said. He explained that Serbia's next cabinet, aside from facing and compromising on major issues, like Kosovo and the pandemic, would also need to accept compromises in dealing with"minor themes," including a new dialogue with the opposition.
