According to the Sept. 23 announcement, 81 new cases of the coronavirus infection were confirmed in Serbia in the past 24 hours, while one person died.

There have been 33,080 cases of infection since the start of the epidemic in Serbia, with a total of 744 fatalities from COVID-19. There are 315 people currently being treated in hospitals, 22 of them on ventilators.

The deputy director of the Institute Batut, Darija Kisic Tepavcevic, has stated that 23,000 Serbian citizens returning from foreign countries had reported via the electronic application system since Sept. 18, when the obligation to report was introduced for those returning to the country, and that 36 suspected as having the infection had been referred to covid infirmaries.

Kisic Tepavcevic told the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation (RTS) on Sept. 23 that more than two thirds of those reporting had returned from Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as from Croatia, Albania and Turkey.
