Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Sept. 25 that "neither tycoons nor foreign embassies" would pick the new government of Serbia, but that it would be a cabinet of the people, stressing that before the current regime governments were picked by "Miskovic and the American embassy."

"Some of them would primarily have wishes as to who should not be in the government, and then whom they would prefer, but I just laugh and say whom I'd like to see on their cabinets," Vucic, who was in Turkey on an official visit, told Pink TV when asked about foreign influence on putting together a cabinet.

Vucic also said that he would try to have "plenty of new people" in the new government, even though "that won't be easy because many have become used to senior office" and riding in cars with rotating lights.

In the same statement, he reiterated that Serbia was ready to talk and would never run from a dialog with Pristina with a view to reaching compromise. Vucic would not say whether he would be going to Brussels for the continued dialog, explaining that "things change there day to day."

On the topic of his visit to Turkey, Vucic said it was very important to Serbia to have good communication with Turkey as it is "a huge regional force, increasingly important globally, too."
