A total of five people died of the coronavirus in Serbia in the past 24 hours while 1,053 more were infected, the Ministry of Health said in a statement on Oct. 27.
A total of 38 patients are on ventilators while 823 people have been hospitalized. The death toll in Serbia has reached 798.
Epidemiologist and Crisis Headquarters member Predrag Kon said on Oct. 27 that the epidemiological situation in Serbia was worsening and that an increase in the number of infected was expected this week and the next.
He said that the epidemiological situation in Serbia was slightly better than in the rest of Europe but that a higher infection rate was expected and that restrictions were necessary.
