BETA editor-in-chief Dragan Janjic said on Oct. 29 that there was no opposition in the Serbian Parliament and that it was disheartening that ruling MPs had made the opposition a theme at a session on Oct. 28.

During an appearance on N1 TV, Janjic said only members of minority parties had behaved like an opposition and that they did a good job, but that parliamentarism had been dealt a deadly blow.

"This is also one of the reasons for holding an early election, because it is dawning upon (Serbian President Aleksandar) Vucic that this kind of parliament cannot also not be welcomed by the international community. It is disheartening when an MP from Novi Pazar tells the majority that it is incapable of hearing out even the three of them," Janjic stressed.

He also said that the election campaign for elections announced for  2022 had begun and added that everything that the government did would be connected to that. "This government is acting as a kind of electoral and crisis headquarters which will deal with Covid-19-related matters, but its main goal will be preparing for the next elections," Janjic said in his appearance on N1 TV.
