The Serbian minister for European integration, Jadranka Joksimovic, and Hungarian Ambassador Attila Pinter discussed the plans on Nov. 4 about the further cooperation of the two countries in the process of Serbia's European integration, after last week's visit of Hungarian minister for foreign affairs and trade, Peter Szijjarto, the Serbian government has stated.

Joksimovic underscored that the acceleration of the reforms that lead Serbia towards membership in the European Union was one of the key goals of the new government, and that Hungary's continuous political and expert support was exceptionally important.

"Despite the effect on the pandemic on the global social and economic trends, the government will attempt to actively carry out the reform process in the forthcoming period and, according to the new negotiation methodology, the fulfilling of political criteria will be at the forefront, coupled with the equally important sustainable economic development, with the aim of securing progress in the day-to-day life of the people," the minister has stated.

Pinter has stated that Hungary would continue its active promotion of the two countries' cooperation and its contributing on Serbia's path to the EU. He has added that Hungary supported the opening of new chapters in Serbia's negotiations with the EU, because that was the way to boost the comprehensive reform process in Serbia.
