Serbia Reports 56 More COVID-19 Deaths, 4,995 Newly Infected

Another 56 COVID-19 patients have died in the last 24 hours, while there are 4,995 confirmed newly infected, the Health Ministry of Serbia said in a press release on Dec. 13.

Hospital care is being provided for 8,801 of these patients, 331 of whom are on ventilators.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, 2,331 people have died of COVID-19 in Serbia.

Nebojsa Ladjevic, director of the Serbian Clinical Center's Anesthesiology and Reanimation Center, told the Dec. 13 issue of the Blic daily that the latest wave of the epidemic was the most serious yet, and that many healthcare workers were infected, in addition to record high numbers of infected and hospitalized patients.
