The Serbian speaker, Ivica Dacic, said on Feb. 3 that it was unclear when a new round of government-opposition talks about the election process would begin, because opposition parties had not sent an official request for the talks to the parliament.

In an interview with the Pink TV Dacic said that "commitment to the dialogue is undeniable," but that it would be different from a dialogue with the opposition ahead of last elections in June 2020 insofar as the Serbian parliament would not host it, since there are no opposition parties in the parliament to talk with.

The Serbian speaker also said that the inter-party dialogue was "Aleksandar Vucic's gesture of good will," and that the ruling coalition had made it clear at the very beginning of the process that "the dialogue is not a wishing well," in a sense that a request by the opposition to take power without elections was not going to be discussed.
