Epidemiologist Predrag Kon, who is also a member of the country’s Crisis Headquarters, said on Feb. 24 that this body will discuss more concrete measures against the Covid-19 epidemic at its session on Feb, 26, the media have reported.

According to the B92 portal, after the Crisis Headquarters session on Feb. 24, Kon said that “something needs to be done” by the coming weekend, and that by then “everyone will have enough time to think over how that can be organized.”

Epidemiologist Branislav Tiodorovic said before the session that additional control will certainly be necessary, adding that most restaurant and café owners are abiding by the prescribed measures, but that a minority is causing problems by organizing mass parties.

He also said that the epidemiological situation is unfavorable, and that in some places, such as Belgrade, Novi Sad, Arilje, Vranje, and Kraljevo, it is even alarming.

Virologist Tanja Jovanovic said for Politika on Feb. 24 that the measures need to be tightened in view of the indiscipline and disrespect for the existing epidemiological rules that have been noted.
