Serbian Speaker Ivica Dacic said on Feb. 25 that he was scheduled to hold an online discussion with the European Parliament's Foreign Committee chief David McAllister and that representatives of political parties would not be included, adding that he hoped that an inter-party dialog would begin in the second half of March.

"They (the European Parliament) believe this to in some way be the start of activities in the inter-party dialog, but our meetings with political parties will begin only after this initial discussion of sorts," Dacic told state TV.

When asked when the dialog might begin, whether it could start in March, he replied that it would take place in March, probably in the second half. He reiterated that it was necessary to define the format - who will participate, adding that he had an obligation to hear out proposals on election conditions from parties that did not want foreigners to be included in the talks.

"This is an inter-party dialog under the auspices of the Serbian Parliament, i.e. its speaker, helped by the European Parliament," Dacic stressed.
