The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs "warmly welcomes the opening of Kosovo's embassy in Jerusalem," describing it as "the natural development of relations and realisation of the Washington agreement," Israeli media reported on March 15.

Kosovo opened the embassy on March 14, and Ambassador Ines Demiri said on Twitter that it was "a truly historic and proud moment in the Kosovo-Israeli relationship."

Most of the states that have established relations with Israel have their embassies in Tel Aviv. Israel does not plan to open an embassy in Pristina right away, but will appoint a non-residential ambassador to cover the territory. Kosovo is the first Muslim-majority country to have opened an embassy in Jerusalem, the reports say.
