5,346 new cases of infection with the coronavirus were registered in Serbia in the past 24 hours, 30 people died and there are 222 people on ventilators, it was announced on March 18.
According to information from the Health Ministry, 5,099 patients are being treated for covid-19 in hospitals. Since the start of the epidemic in Serbia, 4,840 people have died and 536,904 have been infected.
Epidemiologist Branislav Tiodorovic stated on March 18 that all medical members of the Crisis Headquarters for the fight against the epidemic, of which he is member, knew well that these five or six days of stricter measures were not the solution.
"We will certainly have to prolong the measures into next week," Tiodorovic told TV Prva, adding that the medical part of the Crisis Headquarters was constantly requesting the continuous full implementation of measures.
